For the Parents

Parent Communication

One of the best parts of my job is building relationships with my students and their families. Parent communication is a huge part of that. I like to give parents lots of information about what is going on in my classroom. If you have questions or concerns please let me know. Feel free to call or email me. For me, email work best because I can save it and use it as a reminder for myself. I check my email at least three times a day, if not more and try to return all emails within the day they are sent. Our classroom website has lots of information. This should also help answer any questions you may have.

If you have important information that is time sensitive, such as a change in pick up at the end of the day, it is best to call the school office.

Sometimes misunderstandings can occur between a student’s parents and teacher. If there is anything you are worried or confused about please contact me and I would be happy to help!

Parent Volunteers

I love to have parent volunteers. I am convinced the volunteers in our classroom are what really help to make a school year memorable and meaningful for the students. Volunteering can be helping in the classroom by working with students, organizing parties, making copies, or preparing materials. Help for our students can also happen outside the classroom. This could be sending in supplies, or helping with projects at home. If you are interested in helping please let me know times when you are available and I will add you to the schedule.

About Me

I grew up in Maxwell and thoroughly enjoyed the education I received here from kindergarten until high school. Afterwards, I attended Butte College. When I wasn’t working diligently in the classroom, I spent time training for the Butte College boxing team. After spending a year in Chico, I transferred to Shasta College where I earned my Associates Degree and played football. At Sacramento State I earned my Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies and minored in history. I’m currently in the process of obtaining my Masters Degree in Teaching with a specialization in teacher leadership. I am excited to start my third year of teaching 5th grade at Maxwell Elementary.
